Hailed as “one of the best young bands in America,” Filligar is comprised of the three Mathias brothers—Pete, Teddy, and Johnny—and their lifelong friend, Casey Gibson. The band has headlined sold-out shows at some of the USA's most acclaimed venues, toured the United Kingdom to enthusiastic audiences, and supported major acts such as Counting Crows, The Black Keys, Alabama Shakes, Ben Folds, and My Morning Jacket. The band has been called “a fresh take on indie rock” by Paste Magazine, one of music’s “Next Big Things” by SPIN, and “a breath of fresh air” by Consequence of Sound.
The U.S. State Department recently designated Filligar as cultural ambassadors, representing "the best of the U.S. arts community." The band has subsequently toured Azerbaijan, Kuwait, Guyana and Russia as arts envoys.
